Combat Arms

Combat Arms is a modern infantry FPS with weapon customization and co-op modes. Weapon attachments comprise of suppressors, scopes and extended magazines. Each player has a backpack allowing them to carry multiple primary weapons, so you can go to battle with an assault rifle and sniper. Teams have a designated spawn area on each map; if you die you will always respawn in the same general location. Combat Arms also has voice-chat enabled so team work (or taunting) is much more accessible.

    Game Modes
  • Bombing Run – Two teams fight to plant a single bomb at each others’ base.
  • Capture the Flag – Each team tries to capture the enemy’s flag and return it to home base.
  • Elimination – Respawning team death match.
  • Elimination Pro – Round-based team death match, once you die you wait for the round to end.
  • Fireteam – Co-op mode where you can fight through a hostile town or defend a room from zombies.
  • Last Man Standing -
  • One Man Army – Standard ‘every man for them self’.
  • Quarantine Regen – One player starts as a zombie, the round ends when all players are zombies or the time runs out.
  • Search & Destroy – No respawn, one team works to plant a bomb at two defended enemy locations.
  • Spy Hunt – All players for themselves; each player tries to collect all 5 intel pieces (similar to ‘hold the briefcase’).

Paid content is mostly made up of vanity items such as clothing or character models. You can also purchase support items like healing, air strikes and sentry guns at a low rank. Most non-vanity support items are available for purchase with free in-game money at a high rank.

Combat Arms is an overall solid game, however I find it too repetitive. Map sizes usually aren’t too large, and in most game modes you will always spawn from the same location. It’s common to run the same path dozens of times in one round to reach a front line that doesn’t move. – RenegadeFerret 8/3/2010
