Twin Spirit
Twin Spirit is a vertical shooter with an interesting element of time travel. You must have a VIP to play this game. There are no powerups or point pickups, you earn points by destroying enemies. You also earn bonus points for not letting any enemies escape, with each enemy destroyed you earn 1 point towards your 'streak bonus' which is added to every new enemy killed. Once an enemy escapes your streak bonus starts back at 0. With any vertical shooter you want to keep your eyes focused on the bullets around your ship and not the enemies.
Phase 1 - Wallis
You will start with Wallis, a ship that fires two diagonal streams. It takes Wallis a bit longer to destroy enemies than Fortuna because of the diagonal shots.
- Do your best to damage all enemies that appear on the screen. Try not to stand still focusing on enemies one at a time, instead move back and forth giving each enemy a temporary spray. Spraying is done to maximize your points during Phase 2.
- Try to remember any ships that escape for Phase 2.
- Wallis will die eventually, try to be killed by an enemy that has been on the screen a long time.
Phase 2 - Wallis + Fortuna (Pre-Robert)
Once Wallis is killed, the game will go back in time to where you started. Enemies will attack in the exact same pattern as Phase 1 and Wallis will execute all the same actions you took. You will only be in control of Fortuna which is a vertical shooting ship.
- This is the time to rack up those streak bonus points. Hopefully the spray tactic used in Phase 1 will give Fortuna more flexibility and allow him to focus on destroying individual ships missed in the previous Phase.
- Use Fortuna to quickly clear away enemies that fire a lot of bullets. That will clear the screen allowing you better mobility to target large enemies.
- Keep in mind how Wallis died so you can prepare to quickly destroy the killer.
Phase 3 Option 1 - Robert Destroyed
Eventually the ship that killed Wallis in Phase 1 will appear. His name is Robert and he will have a red outline (the killing bullet will have a red outline as well). If you kill Robert before he kills Wallis (as in Phase 1), you will earn a bonus 5000 points. Wallis will also follow Fortuna providing extra firepower for the next set of enemies. When either Wallis or Fortuna is hit, you will take control of the surviving ship to wrap up the game.
- Wallis will follow your actions, but he will be delayed. You must factor for that while dodging bullets if you want Wallis to survive.
- Then again, your main focus should be keeping Fortuna alive because he has a higher chance of killing enemies on his own than Wallis.
Phase 3 Option 2 - Robert Not Destroyed
If you do not kill Robert in time, you will not get 5000 points and the screen will be temporarily cleared of enemies. Oh yeah, Wallis will disappear as well...
- Do your best to rack up points with Fortuna. Try targeting larger ships because they will provide more points than smaller ones.
