Heroes In the Sky is an aircraft fighting mmorpg taking place in World War 2. The game is arcade style meaning it does not try to accurately simulate flying. The game controls are very simple and easy to learn with maneuvering being the arrow keys and the space bar being acceleration. There are 2 main game modes; the first is where you and up to 3 other players join together to complete missions and quests which reward you with parts that may also be bought in the game store and are used to upgrade your plane, and the other being players vs players where up to 16 players fight in a large chaotic dogfight. Included are free for all, team death match as well as survivor modes. Another form of PvP is “The occupational war” where the 2 factions battle over areas. Players move to territories where they attack or defend a certain objective. As players level up, they may produce better planes with each country having a tree in fighters, bombers, and gunners.
Heroes in the Sky has a variety of paid content. Items that are not 1-time-use are bought for a limited amount of time. There are several categories of items to be purchased. The categories are avatars, decals, parts, and functional. Effects vary from purely aesthetics to slight combat bonuses, to increased chances of upgrades. Examples:
