Lunia: Record of Lunia War

Lunia is an action arcade-styled RPG that is similar to old beat’em ups. It uses Arrow Keys to move, has a linear story-line where you have to clear stages, and cinematics at the end to further explains the story. Lunia has multiple storyline arcs called ‘Episodes’. Each Episode consists of 10 stages to clear with friends or alone and has a different theme to vary feel. Fighting consists of doing combos on the enemy with normal attack or skills. Lunia’s PVP system is an arena-mode, you can have 1 on 1 battles or up to 8 on 8.

    Standard Classes
  • Sieg (Knight) - Uses a two-handed sword to hack and slash his way through levels.
  • Eir (Healer) – Uses a rod and carries a book to heal and support her teammates.
  • Dainn (Wizard) – Uses a staff to use long-range magic attacks.

    Unlockable Classes
  • These classes need to be unlocked through either the Real-money currency (G Coins), or by doing something in-game that triggers the unlock in order to play them.
  • Lime (Combat Slime) – Uses jelly to wipe out battlefields with ease. Can change into different slimes at later levels.
  • Dacy (Puppeteer) – Uses a doll to summon puppets that can kill enemies. Has good crowd control capabilities.

Paying users have access to more clothing and can create a trading store. Paying users can also get the unlockable classes faster than free users. Paying users have access to advanced potions and can buy revive hearts for extra lives. Purchased content does not give too much of an advantage in PvP.

Lunia is an addictive fast-paced game. It has responsive controls, the graphics are polished and the music is nice. The occasional latency issues are a hassle when playing a important fight and there is a lack of content once you finish all the released episodes. Despite some of the minor problems, Lunia is an excellent game and you should try it if you are a fan of beat’em ups. – Shotzzzz August 14, 2010
